Thai Vietjet to increase frequency of Bangkok

Thai Vietjet commenced its flight service connecting Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) and Fukuoka on July 16, 2022, with the welcome ceremony at Fukuoka Airport.

BANGKOK – In line with relaxing travel restrictions of regional destinations, Thai Vietjet further announced the addition of its international services Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) – Fukuoka from 4 to 5 weekly flights, starting from October 1, 2022, as well as Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) – Taipei from 1 to 2 flights per week, starting from October 2, 2022.

“After a long break from COVID-19, the gradual recovery of the international travel market is definitely a good sign for airline industry. What we find, beyond our expectation, is the great feedback from the market, between Thailand with Japan & Taiwan, since the two of our flight services initially launched. With further relaxation of travel restrictions of those governments, we are eager to add more flights during the upcoming peak travel season, offering a more convenient yet affordable choice of travel for international tourists to/from Japan and Taiwan.” said Mr. Pinyot Pibulsonggram, Director of Commercial, Thai Vietjet

Thai Vietjet commenced its flight service connecting Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) and Fukuoka on July 16, 2022, with the welcome ceremony at Fukuoka Airport. Lately, the airline commenced its flight service between Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) and Taipei on August 18, 2022, with the welcome ceremony at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Starting October 1, 2022, the flight service connecting Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) and Fukuoka will be increased from 4 to 5 weekly flights, every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, with an approximate flight duration of 5 hours 30 minutes, and shall be increased to daily flights soon. Likewise, the flight service connecting Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) and Taipei will be increased from 1 to 2 weekly flights, every Thursday and Sunday, starting from October 2, 2022, with an approximate flight duration of 3 hours 45 minutes.

In addition, the airline has also announced its new international services from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) to Phu Quoc (Vietnam), starting from October 12, 2022, expected to capture high travel demand to this emerging international tourist island in Vietnam.

Currently, passengers entering Thailand are no longer required to possess a certificate of testing for a negative COVID-19 result prior to entering the country or upon arrival. Passengers are also not required to quarantine upon arrival due to the removal of the ‘Test & Go’ scheme from May 1, 2022.

As the Fastest Growing Low-cost Carrier of the Year 2020 (awarded by Global Business Outlook Magazine, London), Thai Vietjet has continuously expanded its flight network, both domestic and international.  The airline has recently been awarded the ‘New Airline Award’ of the Changi Airline Award 2022 for commencing flight services to Changi Airport despite COVID-19, highlighting the airline’s contributions toward maintaining the resilience of the Singapore air hub during the pandemic.
