Over 96% of International Tourists Highly Satisfied With Their Trip to Spain, Survey Reveals

A total of 96 per cent of international tourists who visited Spain this summer were satisfied with their trip, with more than half of them or 55 per cent intending to return in the next 12 months.

According to the 2022 Visitor Satisfaction Survey, 94 per cent of the respondents were satisfied because of the offer of free time, which was one of the elements that increased the high level of satisfaction, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

At the same time, about 92 per cent of the surveyed tourists have been very satisfied with the good infrastructure in the country, including airports, highways and promenades by the sea and transport to the destination, which includes metro, taxi, bus, train, ship and aeroplane.

Regarding the characteristics of the destinations they have visited, including safety, cleanliness, green areas, scenery or accessibility for people with disabilities, 92 per cent of the respondents claimed they are satisfied with them.

The data also reveal that nine out of ten tourists were mostly happy with the accommodation where they stayed in Spain, while three out of four expressed their support for the country’s commitment to sustainability.

“Listening to the opinion of our international visitors is an essential exercise to continue improving. The high level of satisfaction shown by tourists who come to Spain proves the high degree of professionalism and quality of our tourism sector, and should serve as a stimulus for us to continue improving our tourism offer and progressing towards excellence”, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Maroto pointed out in this regard.

Among the tourists who were the happiest about their trip are Americans and Canadians since 75 per cent of them claim they are very satisfied with their stay in Spain, followed by Latin Americans with 73 per cent, the Irish with 70 per cent, Britons with 68 per cent and French and German with 53 per cent.

In addition, amongst all countries participating in the survey, more than 50 per cent of respondents are very satisfied with their visit to Spain.

“The data presented by the Minister correspond to the first two waves of the 2022 Visitor Satisfaction Survey prepared by Turespaña between the months of June and August based on 10,891 interviews. In November, there will be a third wave,” the statement issued by the Ministry of Tourism of Spain reads.

Moreover, one in four tourists who visited Spain this summer declared that they had made at least ten trips to this country so far, while 60 per cent indicated that they had no previous connection to Spain.
