Guestline showcases hotel solutions to support recovery at FHT

The Guestline PMS is currently being utilised at the College to aid the development and education of Thailand’s future hoteliers.

Over 300 brands and 30000 visitors converged in Bangkok last month as the hospitality industry came together for four days to immerse themselves in educational seminars and networking opportunities at Food and Hospitality Thailand. With solutions and strategies to aid recovery very much top of the agenda, it was the perfect opportunity to get up to speed with the latest industry trends – and Guestline, market leaders in cloud-based hospitality solutions, were there!

The bustling trade show was making a welcome return post-pandemic and provided a well overdue opportunity for the food and hospitality industry to get together after what has been a turbulent few years for all. And we are delighted to report the air was one of optimism, with hoteliers keen to explore how they could drive demand and operational efficiencies.

Technology to support the digitised guest
With the industry waking up to the power of cloud-based technology over the last few years and the efficiencies it can bring, the Guestline stand was kept busy with hoteliers keen to understand the benefits offered by our solutions. There was particular interest in RezLynz, our cloud-based PMS, and our newly launched kiosks, providing the ultimate contactless check-in experience for guests. This interest in contact-free guest solutions was evidence that the pandemic has accelerated the growth of the digitised customer and we are delighted to be leading the way in supporting this with our guest technology.

Of course, as well as providing the opportunity to showcase our suite of products to the industry, the event also offered a welcome opportunity to catch up with old friends. Our all-important and valued customers, including Best Western APAC and B2 Hotels, were in attendance, as well as partners such as Carmen Hotel Financial Partners, all keen to come together to understand how the industry is responding to marked changes in market conditions.

Proud to support the growth of hospitality as a career and support the next generation of hoteliers, we were delighted to welcome students from the Dusit Thani College to our stand to discuss how our leading technology solutions are shaping the future of hotels. The Guestline PMS is currently being utilised at the College to aid the development and education of Thailand’s future hoteliers, so it was a great opportunity to answer questions and further develop that relationship.

And while everyone valued the chance to immerse themselves in the latest industry developments post-pandemic and debate how to navigate the path to recovery, fun was also on the agenda. Our ‘Spin The Wheel’ competition on the Guestline stand saw 26 lucky winners leave with airbuds as a prize!

Create differentiation in a crowded marketplace
Our business development director, Tharin Sethi, took to the stage at the Thai Hoteliers Members meeting to provide insights into a subject that is top of many hoteliers’ agendas given today’s climate – how hoteliers can create differentiation in a crowded marketplace. He spoke to over 140 attendees about the importance of dynamic rate management, embracing technology, and allowing guests to own the guest experience as key to winning market share. An overview of Tharin’s strategies for recovery can be found here.

The staffing crisis combined with the growth of the digitised guest has put the spotlight well and truly on technology and how this can support hotel operations and we left the show energised by the receptiveness of the industry to explore solutions to the challenges we are facing. ‘We were delighted to see how enthused hoteliers are about embracing technology to support their operational challenges,’ said Matthew Emptage, Country Manager, Thailand, Guestline. ‘With the Guestline APAC team having recently expanded, we are hugely encouraged by this growing interest in technology and the efficiencies cloud-based solutions can bring. We have noticed a significant shift in how hoteliers embrace technology and we look forward to expanding our presence in the APAC market as we continue to support hoteliers with their recovery strategies.’
