The data provided by the Croatian National Tourist Board also revealed that during this period, there were more than 214,000 tourist arrivals in Croatia, which means that compared to the 2021/2022 holidays, this figure increased by 28 per cent, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

“With this result, we concluded the previous year very successfully and entered 2023 in a positive tone and atmosphere. That this is so is confirmed by the more than 260,000 overnight stays realised so far in January, which represents a nine per cent increase compared to January last year,” the director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić pointed out in this regard.

According to him, in order to maintain these trends, Croatia is preparing a series of promotional activities, campaigns, presentations, as well as fine performances.

In addition, he also added that in addition to activities and information campaigns related to the introduction of the euro and the country’s entry into Schengen, Croatia would be presented at the fairs in Madrid, New York, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf and Utrecht during this month.

The most registered overnight stays during the Christmas and New Year holidays are in Istria with 133,000, Kvarner with 123,000, and Zagreb with 97,000.
