Announcing the news, the Consul General of France in Rabat, Sandrine Lelong-Motta, said that all Moroccan nationals who hold a master’s degree, an engineering diploma, or a doctorate from a French university will be able to apply for a Schengen visa under facilitated.

As Lelong-Motta explained, all those eligible Moroccan alumni who want to take advantage of the initiative need to register on the France Alumni platform.

She also emphasised that specific visa appointment slots will be made available only for this group of Moroccan applicants and, at the same time, noted that the applications will be assessed in line with the Schengen rules but with “generosity”.

While the visa application process for Moroccan alumni of French universities has been simplified, this group of applicants must keep in mind that they still need to submit all the required documents and that the new system does not guarantee automatic approval.

Moroccan Alumni of French Universities Will Be Granted Longer Validity Schengen Visas

As part of the new initiative, Lelong-Motta revealed that in addition to streamlined applicatication rules, Moroccan alumni of French universities are also eligible for longer-validity Schengen visas.

According to her, Moroccan alumni may be granted Schengen visas with a validity period of between one and five years, provided that they submit all the required documents.

On the basis of this visa, Moroccan alumni are able to enter all the other Schengen member states.

Moreover, a longer validity period visa permits Moroccan alumni to travel to the Schengen Area multiple times during a year.

If your file is complete, you will be able to obtain a visa valid for a period of one to five years. This visa will allow you to enter France and travel within the European Union on several occasions.
