President Marcos inaugurates Grand Westside Hotel Philippines biggest hotel

President Marcos inaugurates the Grand Westside Hotel in Parañaque City, the country’s largest hotel development, boosting tourism and creating job opportunities.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. inaugurated the newly opened Grand Westside Hotel in Parañaque City on Saturday, hailing it as a significant economic and tourism boost for the Philippines. Tagged as the biggest hotel development in the country, this 19-story establishment features over 1,500 rooms and is expected to significantly enhance the government’s tourism campaign while generating more jobs and business opportunities for Filipinos.

Marcos emphasized the hotel’s role in accommodating the increasing number of local and international tourists visiting Metro Manila. He highlighted that the Grand Westside Hotel’s opening comes at a time when the tourism sector has shown remarkable growth, contributing 8.6 percent to the country’s GDP in 2023.

“Thanks to this hotel, we can do more,” Marcos stated during his speech. “We can not only accommodate the resurging number of tourists but also elevate the status of our Entertainment City, attracting more visitors in the coming years.”

The President revealed that other developments by Megaworld, including the 1,500-seater Grand Opera House, more theaters, and a gaming complex, are underway. He noted that these projects will not only attract more tourists but also generate around 20,000 direct and indirect jobs during the hotel’s operation.

Situated within Megaworld’s 31-hectare Westside City township at Entertainment City, Grand Westside Hotel offers a variety of room types, including presidential suites, Queen Suites, Twin Suites, and Executive Suites. The hotel is also equipped with dedicated rooms for specially-abled guests.

Dining options at the hotel include Café by Westside, the all-day dining restaurant serving Filipino and international cuisines, Zabana Bar, and Plunge Bar at the open deck on the fifth floor. LaMeza, a specialty restaurant, is set to open later this year.

Guests can enjoy first-class amenities on the fifth floor, including a pool area with views of the Manila Bay sunset, a children’s pool, a Zen garden, and an outdoor seating area. The hotel also features function rooms for various events, a fitness gym, massage rooms, and an Executive Lounge exclusive to VIP guests.

Alliance Global Group Inc. (AGI) President Kevin Tan shared that the hotel will be connected to the soon-to-rise Westside Resort Complex, envisioned to be the “Broadway of Asia.” This complex will feature four theaters, including the Grand Opera House, which will have a 2,000-seating capacity.

“Our growth focused on tourism is strongly anchored on performing arts and other forms of entertainment like musicals, concerts, and comedies,” Tan said.

Managed by Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, Grand Westside Hotel is the second hotel property in Westside City, following the 529-room Kingsford Hotel Manila. Megaworld Hotels & Resorts currently operates 20 hotel properties across the Philippines, including Richmonde Hotel Ortigas, Eastwood Richmonde Hotel, Richmonde Hotel Iloilo, Savoy Hotels, Belmont Hotels, Kingsford Hotels, Twin Lakes Hotel, Hotel Lucky Chinatown, ArcoVia Hotel, Paragua Sands Hotel, and Chancellor Hotel Boracay.
