UAE: 3 expats win Dh100,000 each in Mahzooz draw, plan to launch own business

Dubai: Three UAE residents took home Dh100,000 each in the 151st draw of the Mahzooz Saturday Millions raffle, it was announced today.
The latest recipients of this windfall are Vijay from India, Agustin from the Philippines, and Anwar from Pakistan.
Vijay, who has been living in the UAE for 18 years, is the father of a 19-year-old daughter, who lives in India to pursue her education.
The project coordinator who works for a private marble company has been participating in Mahzooz once or twice a month.
He was elated to discover his win while checking his Mahzooz account on Saturday night. Though he had hoped for the grand prize of Dh20million, Vijay was thrilled with his raffle winnings and plans to invest the sum in a small business venture in the UAE.
He had previously won smaller prizes with Mahzooz, which motivated him to continue participating.
Fashion designer
The second winner, Agustin, originally from the Philippines, has been living in the UAE for the past 19 years and currently resides in Al Ain. Single with two adopted sons, Augustin was pleasantly surprised to receive an email about his win on Saturday night.
He initially thought it was another Dh5 prize like the previous week, but to his surprise, on Sunday morning, Agustin found out that his raffle ID was mentioned as one of the winners of the Dh100,000 prize.
The fashion designer intends to return to the Philippines in 2025 to start a business with his winnings.
Inspired by jackpot winner
The third raffle winner, Anwar, from Pakistan, recently moved to Dubai to work for a transportation company. Father of two young children, aged 3 years and 4 months, who live back home, Anwar found out about his win while watching the live draw with his friends on Saturday evening.
Introduced to Mahzooz by the biggest Mahzooz multi-millionaire, Junaid, also from Pakistan, who won Dh50 million, Anwar registered with Mahzooz at that time, after watching Junaid’s story online.
In 2023, he purchased a total of five lines and won the Dh5 prize twice, the Dh35 free line once and now the raffle draw prize of Dh100,000. The young winner dreams of visiting Canada and touring the world while also investing in a small transport business in the UAE.
