UAE President, Jordan’s King Abdullah discuss deep-rooted ties following official reception ceremony in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on a state visit to the UAE today.

King Abdulla’s procession was greeted at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, with an official reception ceremony featuring a cavalcade of horsemen on Arabian horses in the palace courtyard.

Sheikh Mohamed then escorted King Abdullah to the dais, where the national anthems of the UAE and Jordan were played, followed by a 21-gun salute in honour of his visit.

Prior to King Abdullah’s arrival at Qasr Al Watan, the UAE’s national aerobatic team, Al Fursan, took to the skies above the palace, forming a depiction of the Jordanian flag.

Sheikh Mohamed wrote on his account on X: “I was pleased to receive King Abdullah II of Jordan to discuss the deep-rooted and historic bonds between our nations. Through robust economic partnership and people-to-people engagement, the UAE and Jordan remain united in joint efforts to fortify regional cooperation, development, and stability.”
